The mint is known for the cooling properties and is used in many dishes and drinks mostly in summers. The leaves of this plant are known to benefit health in multiple ways. This can not only boost the digestion but can also keep bad breath at bay. Studies have proved that many of the benefits offered by mint are from inhaling the aroma, applying this to the skin or taking this as a capsule. The many benefits of mint include

*Improving the function of the brain by improving the memory and alertness.

*This can decrease the pain felt during breast feeding. Mothers who breastfeed many a times experience cracked nipples and soreness. Applying mint can help in relieving this discomfort. This can be used as a gel or even a paste or oil.

* Mint provides relief for the many symptoms of cold and flu by improving the breathing through the nose.

*This can also offer relief for indigestion as mint speed up the movement of food through the stomach.

Mint for Face:

Mint is known to have anti-bacterial properties and is rich in menthol and can be used for not only cleansing the skin but also for hydrating and toning the facial skin.

  1. Fuller earth and Mint face Pack:

Adding mint to a paste of fuller earth enhances the properties of oil control and cleansing. Adding curd and honey can offer multiple benefits. This need to be applied on the face for at least 20 minutes or till this is dried and then washed off. Cucumber and mint work ideally as a face pack during the hot summer months as this can cool and hydrate the skin. Mix a few slices of cucumber with a few leaves of mint along with a few drops of honey in a blender and make a paste. Apply this for 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water. This face scrub made of oats, cucumber and mint can clear the skin of all the oil and dirt accumulated. All that is required is some oats, few mint leaves, few slices of cucumber and a little of honey and milk. Oats can help in remove dead skin and exfoliate the skin. Apply this scrub on your face in a circular motion and then rinse it off. You can dry your face with gentle dabbing.

  1. Turmeric and Mint face Pack:

This face mask with turmeric and mint can reduce the pimples and the acne. This is because turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. All you need to do is make a paste of few mint leaves with water and add a pinch of turmeric. Leave this face pack for around 15 minutes before you wash it off.
